Plasbex, calls upon artists to challenge their creative elasticity using recycled materials. We call this type of work Eco-Art and aim to inspire societal recycling through art.

ECO-ART COMPETITION & EXHIBITION

Are you an artist in Oman? 

That's all you need to qualify to participate in the first-of-its-kind Eco-Art competition at the Water-Front Muscat, the new premium business and leisure destination in Muscat, in association with Oman Society for Fine Arts (OSFA) and Plasbin.

As the official recycling partner for Water-Front Muscat, this pioneering Plasbex Eco-Arts Exhibition aims to highlight our shared focus on Oman's environmental protection and conservation for future generations through recycling. 
Any Artist in Oman is eligible to participate, including students and professionals. Judges reserve the right to reject any submitted work
Registration opens Sunday 16, June; closing on Sunday 30, June 2019. No artist's registration will be accepted thereafter. Please scroll down on this page to find the registration form
The Art subject is the portrait of H.M. Sultan Qaboos Bin Said made using recycle material only,  to commemorate Oman's 49th Renaissance Day under the H.M's wise and visionary leadership
Art work must be done using only recycled material. The choice of materials is entirely of the participating Artist. Glue and paint are exempted from 'new material' categorization.
Artists are free to make any size of art piece provided it can access the indoor exhibition area without damage to the Water-Front property. Maximum door size is 155 cm Width x 315 cm Height. All art works are required to to be free-standing or able to hang freely on wall
Art work is required to be submitted on or before Thursday 18, July 2019, with the list of materials used. No work will be accepted thereafter. For the sake of fairness, the artist's name shall not be signed or displayed on their work. The Registration ID sent by email upon registration will identity the Artist and their work
Plasbex 1 will be launched on Tuesday 23, July 2019, featuring a special opening ceremony, Judges' session, winner announcement and Art Auction. Specially invited high profile dignitaries will be in attendance. 
The Plasbex 1 exhibition opens to the public on Wednesday 24, July 2019,  and closes on Sunday 28, July 2019. During the exhibition period, the artists may sign or display their names on their work
The panel of judges has been constituted and will be presented here soon, It consists of eminent Art Academics and professional art experts in Oman. Please scroll down to find Judges Panel 
 All art works will auctioned on Tuesday 23, July 2019 as part of the opening ceremony programme. Proceeds will go to 30% Dar Al Atta'a Charity, 30% to the Artist and 40% to Water-Front Muscat hosting costs

Recyclable Materials support

Plasbex 1 registered Artists have free of charge access to unlimited and readily sorted recyclable materials available in large quantities at the Plasbin Factory. Materials available include all types of plastic, paper, metals, glass, wood, and much more. See this page 

The Plasbin Factory is located at Samail Industrial Estate see Google Map here. Artists interested in these material are required to send email to plasbex@plasbin.com indicating the planned date and time of their planned visit and including their Plasbex 1 Registration ID e.g. (PBX 001).
